about
My name is John Kennedy. I am a graduating senior finishing a Bachelors degree in Architecture at the Fay Jones School of Architecture + Design. I have a keen interest in architecture as both an intensely artistic as well as a deeply practical medium. Architecture should be designed for the people that will use it. My work attempts to bridge the gap between something artistic and formal, to something that can be truly impactful on a community via careful consideration of program and accessibility.
For me, architecture is always about the work. I embrace the iterative process of design as not only a career path but as a model for my life. Collaboration with my colleagues has been and continues to be a fantastic tool in designing something that can truly make a difference. Architecture, to me, is meant to be more than a backdrop. It is the defining experience. I try to hold that mentality towards every project as I consider design choices. Listening and hearing are key parts of my duties as a designer.
To do good design is to listen to the needs of the community.
